01 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, downloading, installing or using Stewie Scanner (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, you must not use the Service.
These terms apply to all users, including server owners, anti-cheat staff, moderators, developers and community members.
02 Description of the Service
Stewie Scanner is a security and analysis tool that assists server administrators and anti-cheat teams by examining a system for cheating software, suspicious executables, modifications and related activity that could compromise fair gameplay.
The scanner collects and analyses the system data necessary to perform these checks, and uploads a report to the dashboard operated by the server that issued the PIN.
03 Eligibility & Consent
To use Stewie Scanner you must:
- Have permission from the server or community using the scanner.
- Run scans only on systems whose user has given informed consent.
- Use the Service strictly for anti-cheat and moderation purposes.
- Be old enough to consent to processing of your data where you live — at least 16 in the EEA and the UK, or 13 elsewhere, unless a parent or guardian consents on your behalf.
Consent must be genuine. A player must be told what the scanner collects and be free to decline. Declining may mean they cannot play on that server; it must never be presented as an admission of guilt.
Unauthorised use of the scanner is strictly prohibited.
04 Acceptable Use
You agree to use Stewie Scanner only for legitimate purposes. You may not:
- Use the scanner for harassment, intimidation, extortion or blackmail.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or modify the scanner.
- Use the scanner to collect personal information unrelated to cheat detection.
- Resell or redistribute the scanner without permission from the developer.
- Run the scanner on a system without the user’s knowledge and consent.
- Publish, leak or share scan results outside the staff who need them.
- Use the scanner for any illegal activity.
Violation of these rules may result in licence termination or access revocation.
05 Data Collection
To perform scans, Stewie Scanner may collect limited system information, including:
- Local network information, including private (LAN) IP addresses
- System environment information
- Operating system version and install date
- Hostname and Windows username
- Running processes and loaded modules
- Suspicious executable files, with cryptographic hashes
- Game and modification directories
- Windows event, execution and filesystem artefacts relevant to anti-cheat analysis
The dashboard additionally records the public IP address of the connection that uploads a report, as any web server does, for abuse prevention and diagnostics.
This information is used solely for cheat detection and investigation. Stewie Scanner does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information unrelated to cheat detection, and does not read the contents of personal documents, photographs, messages, saved passwords or browser cookies.
06 Data Usage & Retention
Scan results are:
- Accessible to authorised anti-cheat staff of the server that issued the PIN.
- Used only for investigating potential cheating or rule violations.
- Stored temporarily or permanently depending on the server’s configuration.
Scan reports are held by the server operating the dashboard, not by the developer. Operators are expected to delete reports once the investigation they were collected for is closed, and should not retain them indefinitely without reason.
07 Administrator Responsibilities
If you operate a Stewie dashboard, you decide what is collected from your players and why. Under data-protection law that generally makes you the data controller for those reports, not the developer. You are responsible for:
- Telling players what is collected before they run a scan.
- Restricting dashboard access to staff who need it.
- Keeping your instance, its login credentials and its session secret secure.
- Deleting reports when they are no longer needed.
- Responding to requests from your players about their data.
08 Your Rights Over Your Data
If you were scanned, you may ask the server that scanned you for a copy of your report, for it to be corrected, or for it to be deleted. Those requests go to that server’s staff, because they hold the data.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the UK GDPR, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
09 Data Security
Reports are transmitted to the dashboard over the connection the server operator configures; operators are strongly advised to serve the dashboard over HTTPS. Dashboard access requires an account, and each scan is bound to a single-use PIN issued by staff.
No system is perfectly secure. Neither the developer nor a server operator can guarantee that data will never be accessed without authorisation.
10 Licences
Licences for Stewie Scanner may be provided:
- Free of charge
- Through partnership agreements
- Through private distribution
The developer reserves the right to revoke licences, limit usage or refuse service if the scanner is misused or abused.
11 No Guarantee of Detection
Stewie Scanner aims to detect known cheating software and suspicious behaviour. However:
- No anti-cheat system can guarantee 100% detection.
- Some cheats may evade detection.
- False positives may occasionally occur.
A scan result is evidence to review, not a verdict. Legitimate software can look suspicious, and staff must verify findings before taking moderation action against anyone.
12 Limitation of Liability
The developer of Stewie Scanner shall not be liable for:
- Incorrect moderation decisions based on scan results
- False positives or missed detections
- Loss of data
- Server-related damages
- Misuse of the scanner by third parties
The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
13 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer from any claim arising out of your use of the Service, including claims brought by people you scanned without their consent or whose data you mishandled.
14 Updates and Changes
Stewie Scanner may receive updates including detection improvements, bug fixes, security patches and new features.
The developer reserves the right to modify the Service and these terms at any time. Material changes will be announced in the community Discord, and the “last updated” date above will change. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the revised terms.
15 Termination
Access to Stewie Scanner may be suspended or permanently terminated if:
- The scanner is abused
- These terms are violated
- Illegal activity is detected
- Community rules are broken
Termination may occur without prior notice.
16 Intellectual Property
All software, detections, algorithms and systems related to Stewie Scanner are the intellectual property of the developer. You may not copy, distribute, sell or replicate the scanner without explicit permission.
17 Third-Party Components
The Service may make use of third-party and open-source components, which remain subject to their own licences. Those licences continue to apply to those components and are not overridden by these terms.
18 Governing Law & Severability
These terms are governed by the laws of the developer’s country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of protections you have under the mandatory law of your own country of residence.
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force.
